To celebrate Archie’s 85th anniversary, a star-studded lineup of creators is bringing you a magical teenage crisis. It’s a localized temporal paradox, and a literal trip to Hell. Comics titan Oni Press and Archie Comic Publications have officially pulled back the curtain on a massive new publishing line. Launching this September, this crossover event is bringing top-tier indie prestige to comic shops everywhere. First up is a gorgeous, spellbinding look at the variant covers for October’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1.

Incredible Artists

Series editor Megan Brown notes that the team is incredibly excited to highlight a host of incredible artists. She promises these bewitching covers offer just a small glimpse into a world that is never boring, never ordinary, and always spellbinding.

The magic officially kicks off with Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1 in October. Who actually wants to be ordinary when you could be casting hexes? Still reeling from discovering her magical birthright just before Halloween, Sabrina is trying to balance her witchcraft hobby with the agony of high school. Things get significantly more complicated when her sassy feline familiar, Salem, drops a mythical trickster right on her doorstep. Suddenly, her mortal and magical lives are on a collision course like two smashed pumpkins on All Hallows’ Eve. There is no time for fate, no time for destiny, and definitely no time for homework. Hugo Award nominee Corinna Bechko writes this debut and features art by Eisner nominee Kano. The cover art lineup includes Kano, Marguerite Sauvage, Naomi Franq, Caroline Cash, Erica Henderson, Mahmud Asrar, and legendary Archie artist Dan Parent.

Before Sabrina drops her spellbook, Riverdale’s favorite redhead is getting a total reinvention in Archie #1. It hits shops on September 2nd. For his entire life, 17-year-old Archie Andrews has had it easy. He’s got adoring friends, football glory, and a baseline charm that keeps him the center of attention. But when a local film festival throws Riverdale into a whirlwind, Archie is thrust into an all-star adventure spanning the town’s past, present, and future. At the center of it all lies an enigmatic paradox that only Jughead Jones can unpack. There are plenty of puzzles and pin-ups to cure your postmodern malaise. This milestone issue is written by Ben H. Winters with art by Fábio Moon. Main covers are handled by Stuart Immonen, with variants by Fábio Moon, Karl Kerschl, Khary Randolph, Elsa Charretier, and an ultra-rare black-and-white incentive.

An Alternate Timeline

Things can never stay normal in Riverdale. November marks the start of a literal inferno in Archie in Hell #1. In an alternate timeline, Archie Andrews’ golden-boy life turns pitch black. Separated from his friends and with a terrible curse, the only way to save Archie is to damn him to the underworld. The next smash hit in Archie’s wildly successful horror imprint brings together multiple Eisner winner Patrick Horvath and Eisner nominee Tyler Crook for a blood-stained trail that stretches from 1690 to the present day. While the covers for this descent into the underworld are currently cloaked in secrecy, all three books will retail for $4.99 at a standard 32 pages.
