Abduction, Betrayal, and the Fight for Survival
Undertow pulls audiences directly into a harrowing, emotionally charged nightmare centered around a teenage girl named Dakota, played by Kayla Bohan. A ruthless human trafficking syndicate abducts Dakota. However, her desperate struggle to break free is only the beginning of her ordeal. After escaping, she is forced to navigate a harrowing web of deception. To overcome the trauma and survive, Dakota must dig deep to discover her inner resilience.
Empowering Storytelling Behind the Camera
Filmmaker Kate Bohan designed the feature to blend edge-of-your-seat tension with deep, character-driven drama. It places a young woman’s personal agency at the core of the narrative. Bohan noted that while Dakota faces unthinkable physical danger, the story centers on finding the courage to rebuild one’s own future. TLyon Park Productions, LLC, Bohan and Kathleen I-Ying Lee (From Embers) produce.
Assembling the Creative Team for a 2027 Release
To build the dynamic ensemble needed to carry such an emotionally demanding script, the production team tapped acclaimed casting directors Sig De Miguel and Stephen Vincent. Their extensive credits include major studio features such as Clifford the Big Red Dog and Serena. With post-production now underway, filmgoers can expect a gripping cinematic journey when Undertow hits movie theaters nationwide in mid-2027.
