Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple’s Iron Ocean banner is teaming up with Paramount Television Studios to develop a series adaptation of Keith Rosson’s 2025 vampire novel Coffin Moon.
The project is being developed under Iron Ocean’s first-look deal with the studio. Noah Harpster and Micah Fitzerman-Blue will adapt the book and serve as showrunners. Rosson will serve as a consulting producer.
A Cold Revenge Story in 1970s Oregon
Set against a brutal 1975 Oregon winter, the series centers on a Vietnam veteran and his adopted niece. They pursue revenge relentlessly. Their lives are shattered after a vampire murders their family. This puts them on a mission to hunt the creature down in a bleak, high-stakes battle for survival.
Creative Forces and Previous Collaborations
Showrunners Harpster and Fitzerman-Blue bring significant pedigree to the project. They previously delivered A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and created the Netflix limited series “Painkiller.”
Coffin Moon also marks another ongoing effort between Paramount Television Studios and Iron Ocean, who are concurrently collaborating on a series adaptation of Robert Ludlum’s The Ambler Warning, which also has Biel attached to star and executive produce.
Jessica Biel Expands Her Television and Film Slate
While Coffin Moon is being developed strictly as a small-screen project, Biel is also preparing for her return to cinema for the Matchbox The Movie alongside John Cena, arriving October 9, 2026, on Apple TV. The action-adventure film marks her first feature film since 2017’s Shock and Awe, following a prolific period in television that included leading roles in “The Sinner,” “Limetown,” Candy, and The Better Sister. Coffin Moon remains in early development, with no formal production timeline or release date set. But we’ll keep you posted.
