Following the massive streaming success of the 2024 international hit, Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for Apocalypse Z: New World.
Director Carles Torrens returns to helm the follow-up, which builds on the groundwork laid by one of the platform’s most-watched international Original movies.

In Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, a rabies-like virus called TSJ collapses society. It turns the infected into hyper-aggressive killers. Grieving lawyer Manel locks himself in his Spanish home with his cat, Lúculo. However, he is eventually forced to flee toward the Canary Islands, the last known safe zone. Along the way, he teams up with Pritchenko, a tough Ukrainian helicopter pilot. Together, they rescue a nurse named Lucía and a young boy from a besieged hospital. They then must fight through overwhelming hordes of infected to escape in a helicopter toward the islands.
High-Stakes Expeditions Across a Post-Outbreak Europe
The narrative picks up after the devastating TSJ virus has torn across Europe, reducing civilization to ruin. The Canary Islands are the continent’s final haven. The story shifts focus to a dangerous supply expedition connecting the mainland to the islands. It also introduces a recruit named Roberto. Driven by ambiguous motives, Roberto and his fellow travelers find themselves trapped between relentless waves of infected hordes. Trust crumbles within their ranks, turning the mission into a grueling test of survival and human loyalty.
Familiar Faces and Feline Favorites Return for the Chaos
The newly released footage opens with a familiar furry face: the fan-favorite cat Lúculo. The feline is navigating the wreckage of a crashed helicopter in Madrid. However, a grim radio transmission establishes the stakes of the hazardous cargo routes.
Several key cast members reprise their roles from the first installment. That includes José María Yazpik as Pritchenko and Berta Vázquez as Lucía, alongside Pedrito the cat. A fresh wave of talent joins them. Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, and Santiago Vaca Narvaja join the fight. Author Manel Loureiro’s apocalyptic world comes to life from a screenplay by Ángel Agudo.
Fans eager to see how the terrifying Spanish zombie saga continues will not have to wait long. The film will premiere at the Sitges Film Festival on October 10, 2026, before launching globally on Prime Video on October 30, 2026.
