Lionsgate has officially unleashed Beware Boiúna! The “must-see” creature feature of the year has now slithered into theatres.

Brazilian Folklore Ignites a Jungle Nightmare

The story follows a dedicated team of doctors and aid workers. They travel deep into isolated stretches of the rainforest to deliver critical medical supplies to remote communities. However, their mission goes horribly wrong when they discover illegal mining has disturbed the slumber of Boiúna, a colossal serpent from Brazilian folklore. Now, everyone is on the menu. They soon find themselves stranded on treacherous waters and completely cut off from communication. The apex predator hunts them from both the dense canopy and murky depths.

Horror Veterans Helm the Creature Feature

Behind the camera, Beware Boiúna brings together an impressive roster of genre talent. Director Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85, upcoming Saw sequel) works from a screenplay by Alan McElroy (Wrong Turn) based on a story co-written with Tony Giglio (Doom: Annihilation). Produced by Resident Evil franchise veterans Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer, the film delivers tension, high-stakes suspense, and terrifying creature effects.

Stellar Cast Prepares for Theatrical Release

An outstanding ensemble leads the fight for survival. It features Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade, Prometheus), and Kiana Madeira (Fear Street Trilogy). Blending folklore with creature horror, Beware Boiúna brings snake-driven terror back to the big screen. It slithers exclusively into theaters on October 2.
