After a decade of legal battles, the Friday the 13th universe has officially broken its curse with a new prequel series. Peacock and A24 have unleashed an eerie final trailer and clip for “Crystal Lake,” rebuilding the slasher mythos from the ground up under showrunner Brad Caleb Kane.
Unlike the dilapidated wasteland seen in the original films, this prequel presents a thriving, functional 1970s camp before its tragic downfall.
Stellar Cast and Nostalgic Slasher Lore
Linda Cardellini anchors the story’s emotional core as a grieving Pamela Voorhees. Alongside her, William Catlett plays local authority figure Levon Brooks, while Callum Vinson portrays young Jason (first look).
Legacy characters also return to flesh out the camp’s backstory, including Nick Cordileone, who takes over as the town’s doom-prophet, Crazy Ralph. The supporting cast also includes Devin Kessler, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Cameron Scoggins, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.
Premiere Schedule and Expanded Universe
The new “Crystal Lake” clip humorously lays out strict camp rules declaring the woods are off limits. The Archery range is off limits. And the lake is off limits unless an adult is present. However, as franchise veterans know, rebellious teenagers and horny camp counselors never listen to warnings. Watch the clip below.
This eight-episode inaugural season marks the very first step in an expanded Jason Universe media initiative. Horror fans can stream “Crystal Lake” when it premieres on Peacock on October 15, 2026.
