Deathstalker Productions has officially announced that Chris McKinnell has joined the cast of the upcoming horror feature Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light. McKinnell brings a compelling real-world background to the project as the grandson of iconic investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. He also serves as Founder and Director of the Warren Legacy Foundation for Paranormal Research. He is continuing his family’s work to help families facing unexplained phenomena. As a result, director Carissa Pierson noted that McKinnell’s genuine expertise brings incredible authenticity.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Pierson stated, “Having Chris join this film is incredibly exciting for us. His connection to Ed and Lorraine Warren is obviously a remarkable part of his story, but what really stood out to me is Chris himself and his continued work in the paranormal community. We’re telling a fictional story, but having someone with his background step into this world adds another level of authenticity to the film’s paranormal side. We’re honored to have him aboard.”

A Found-Footage Nightmare in the Woods

Presented in found-footage style, the fictional narrative centers on William Spanner, the co-host of the television program Unmasking the Paranormal. The story follows Spanner’s production crew as they travel deep into the North Carolina woods to investigate a mysterious case. However, their routine shoot quickly spirals into a dark nightmare as they uncover a secretive cult called The Children of the Hollow. Ultimately, the investigation ties into a dark 1409 manuscript. The crew must fight for their lives against ancient supernatural forces.

A Star-Studded Cast Takes on the Dark Unknown

McKinnell joins an eclectic ensemble cast. The cast includes genre favorites Eric Roberts, Lisa Wilcox, Sandy Johnson, Marc Price, Kato Kaelin, Vernon Wells, and Andrew Pierson. By blending found-footage horror with paranormal-investigation tropes, the film steers the iconic Witchcraft franchise in a thrilling new creative direction. As a result, fans can look forward to a unique collision between real-world ghost-hunting history and classic cinematic terror.
