Black Mandala has officially acquired worldwide sales rights for the upcoming Australian supernatural horror feature Haunted. Directed jointly by Myles McEwen and Ripley Stevens, the indie film promises an unsettling psychological descent into terror. The filmmaking duo previously collaborated on the acclaimed genre title Nightfall: A Paranormal Investigation.
Set in an isolated coastal community, the atmospheric horror thriller combines sudden disappearances with chilling supernatural lore.
A Tragic Night Leaves a Lasting Legacy of Dread
The narrative begins during a violent storm in the small coastal town of One Season. That evening, a mysterious incident involving local teenagers changes the seaside community forever. Four years later, local adolescents begin disappearing without a trace as dark forces stir beneath the surface. Long-buried secrets resurface, threatening the remaining residents who thought they had safely moved on.
A Reclusive Protagonist Faces Terrifying Visionary Forces
The story centers on Sol, a reclusive man struggling with fragmented memories and unsettling visions. When his home faces demolition, Sol is forced out of isolation and must confront the town’s expanding nightmare. Soon, a relentless supernatural entity begins stalking him through the shadows. Sol quickly discovers a direct connection between the recent disappearances and the tragic incident from years prior.
Talented Creative Team Delivers Slow-Burning Terror
McEwen wrote the screenplay and handled cinematography duties while producing the feature alongside co-director Stevens. The production stars David Daradan, Joseph Baronio, Nathaniel Kelly, Jack Rawlinson, and Jordan Bender in lead roles. Composers James Monro and Amelia Rooney also crafted an ominous original score to heighten the tension.
Genre fans can expect a slow-burning descent into terror when Haunted debuts on the festival circuit and proves that “Some places never forget. Some secrets refuse to stay buried.”
