The announcement came about another sequel before Scream VI even made its way onto Blu-ray and DVD. Now, news has come that Radio Silence will not be returning to direct the seventh installment of the franchise. According to THR, Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon will be stepping in to helm the upcoming sequel.

Radio Silence’s Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinell-Oplin (Scream, Scream VI) will be returning to executive produce along with Chad Villella. They aren’t the only ones returning for the movie. Actress Jenna Ortego will be back too, according to THR.

The current writers’ and actors’ strike will likely delay filming for a bit, but with news already being announced, it’s a good sign that it won’t be long (hopefully).

We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can now watch Scream VI on Prime Video or get your copy on Blu-ray or DVD, or head to Paramount+, where you can watch the entire franchise.  Here’s a look back at the trailer.
