To celebrate The 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release of the genre-bending meta-horror, The Blackening, we have a new clip to share with you from the movie’s bonus features, which goes into detail about how the game in the movie was designed.
“The Blackening follows a group of Black friends reunited for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a masked killer who forces them to play a twisted board game by his rules, which they soon realize ain’t no motherf****** game. The Blackening skewers genre tropes and poses the sardonic question: If the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first?”
Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, X Mayo, Dewayne Perkins, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls, Jay Pharoah, and Yvonne Orji star in the film filled with laughs and scares.
Directed by Tim Story (Ride Along, Think Like A Man, Barbershop), the screenplay was written by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip, Harlem) and Dewayne Perkins (The Amber Ruffin Show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
The Blackening slashes its way onto 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack (+Blu-ray™ & Digital), Blu-ray™ (+DVD & Digital), and DVD TODAY from Lionsgate.
