While the alert may send shivers down your spine, don’t panic. That’s the new promo for Blumhouse and Lionsgate’s new movie Imaginary. In the film, “When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter, Alice (Pyper Braun), develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey that she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.
The cast of Imaginary also includes Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Veronica Falcon, and Betty Buckley. Jeff Wadlow, who co-wrote the script with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, will direct. Jason Blum and Jeff Wadlow produce.
If you are wondering what happens when you text “Imaginary” to that number, I can answer that. You will get a message and instructions on how to sign up to receive updates on the movie.
Are the imaginary friends we had as children just that, or are they something more? Something sinister? Imaginary asks that very question and gives an answer that just might leave you with nightmares.
