Are you ready for another round of deadly children’s games? “Squid Game” season 2 is officially coming to Netflix in 2024! The South Korean series took the world by storm in 2021, becoming Netflix’s most-watched series of all time, with over 1.65 billion viewing hours within its first month alone. Its captivating blend of social commentary, heart-wrenching drama, and pulse-pounding action resonated with audiences worldwide, leaving them desperate for more.
Season Two:
While a second season was confirmed soon after the first season’s explosive success, fans have been eagerly awaiting any updates on its development. Finally, in a letter to shareholders, Netflix has shed some light on the upcoming season, announcing its inclusion in their “big, bold slate” for 2024.
“Looking ahead, despite last year’s strikes pushing back the launch of some titles, we have a big, bold slate for 2024. Audiences will be able to choose from hit returning dramas like “The Diplomat” S2, “Bridgerton” S3, “Squid Game” S2 and “Empress S2…”
New and Returning Talent:
Creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk returns to the helm. /and promises an even bigger and more intense season. Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo will reprise their roles. They’ll be joined by an impressive ensemble of new faces, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, and Park Sung-hoon.
While plot details remain under wraps, the first season’s finale hinted at Gi-hun’s goal to dismantle the corrupt organization behind the games. Season 2 will likely explore his quest for revenge and shed light on those pulling the strings. Of course, we will also see the body count rise as new players enter the brutal competition in a bid to win the cash.
