Dealing with family members can be truly terrifying. That’s the case with Freestyle Digital Media‘s award-winning horror film, Children of the Pines, out this October. This psychological horror thriller, directed by Joshua Morgan, delves into the dark underbelly of a seemingly ordinary family.

When college student Riley returns home for winter break, she discovers a disturbing change in her parents’ behavior. Their newfound friendship with her ex-boyfriend and the presence of mysterious children in their home create a sense of unease that quickly escalates into terror for the family.

With a compelling performance by Danielle J. Bowman as Riley, the film explores themes of family dysfunction and the sinister consequences of seeking unconventional solutions.

Children of the Pines has garnered critical acclaim, winning Best Feature at Ice CineFest and Best Thriller at the Indo-French Film Festival. Check it out when it premieres globally on October 18, 2024.
