If you like your horror with a side of “unprocessed trauma” and a healthy dose of practical viscera, mark your calendars for May 15, 2026. ISOTRE Films and director Peter Klausner have announced that their award-winning short, Stomach It, is set to make a splash at both the Cannes Film Festival and on the digital altar of Crypt TV.

After a heavy-hitting festival circuit—racking up credits at everything from Screamfest and Panic Fest to Nashville and FilmQuest—Klausner’s “punch to the gut” is finally ready for its global close-up.

The Vibe: Cronenberg Meets Craven

Klausner isn’t interested in the clean, sanitized scares of modern jump-scare cinema. Stomach. It is being billed as a blood-soaked meditation on isolation that fuses the practical effects with psychological decay. It’s a love letter to body horror that asks, “What happens when you literally can’t stomach your own past?”

The Plot: Cleaning Up After the Dead

Starring Jon Lee Richardson (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), the film follows a crime-scene cleaner. He has become a bit too good at his job. While scrubbing away the remnants of other people’s lives, he struggles to keep his professional boundaries from blurring into his personal psyche.

During a late-night cleanup, he realizes he’s not alone. A monstrous presence is watching—and possibly manipulating—him, forcing a gruesome showdown between his habit of “compartmentalizing” and a very literal form of self-destruction.

A “Body Horror” Pedigree

Director Peter Klausner, who also produced the film alongside Torey Rubin (RWBY), noted his excitement about joining the Crypt TV family:

“I’ve been a fan of Crypt TV for years… I’m so happy STOMACH IT will be playing on the channel, and I think their viewers will appreciate the body horror route we took with the film.”

Dan Bush, Director of Post Production at ZATV, echoed the sentiment, praising the film’s uncompromising imagery and disturbing thematic core.

Stream It

As the film prepares for its big debut on Crypt TV and at Cannes tomorrow, we’re getting a closer look at the psychological “indigestion” that makes this short a standout in the body horror circuit. Stomach It hits Crypt TV on May 15, 2026, so skip your meal, and brace yourself.
