Alright, folks, grab your floaties and prepare for some serious nostalgia! Jaws is swimming back into theaters for its 50th anniversary, and it’s gonna be a summer-long celebration! Just when you thought it was safe to return to the water, Jaws is back to remind you why you’re terrified of the deep blue sea.
The party kicks off in April at the TCM Classic Film Festival with a special screening, giving hardcore cinephiles a chance to relive the terror on the big screen. Then, from August 29th to September 4th, Universal unleashes Jaws nationwide so everyone can get a dose of that classic summer blockbuster magic.
But that’s not all! Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is throwing a summer-long Jaws tribute starting Memorial Day weekend. Think themed screenings, special menus, props, exclusive popcorn buckets, and a boatload of incredible merchandise. It’s a Jaws fan’s dream come true.
For the ultimate immersive experience, “Jaws on the Water” is making a splash on June 21st at Martha’s Vineyard, where the movie was filmed! Thanks to the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow, you can watch the movie while floating on the very water that inspired it. If you can’t make it to Martha’s Vineyard, screenings will be held at Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, throughout June and July.
And if you’re more of a homebody, don’t worry; they’ve got you covered. A 50th-anniversary edition of Jaws is hitting physical media and digital this summer, packed with new bonus content. Plus, starting June 15th, you can stream the entire franchise on Peacock. Talk about a shark-tastic marathon!
Universal’s also getting in on the game, with exclusive goodies hitting Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood in May. We’re talking collector’s sippers, cooler bags, and more—basically, everything you need to show off your love for the movie.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will host “Jaws: The Exhibition” from September 14th, 2025, to July 26th, 2026. The exhibition will be a deep dive into the film’s making, perfect for any movie buff.
Throughout the year, expect a tidal wave of new Jaws products across fashion, toys, publishing, and collectibles. You’ll be swimming in “Jaws” merch.
For those who may not know, Jaws was based on Peter Benchley’s novel and starred Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton. The mechanical shark, affectionately nicknamed “Bruce,” was designed to represent a 25-foot great white. And here’s a fun fact: a real-life great white named “Deep Blue” is nearly as big, clocking in at 21 feet!
So, get ready to relive the terror, the thrills, and the sheer cinematic brilliance of Jaws. This is gonna be one epic summer for shark fans!
