John Carpenter, the legendary Horror Master behind cinematic masterpieces like Halloween, The Thing, and Escape from New York, officially releases his first-ever original graphic novel, Cathedral, today via Storm King Comics.
To mark the launch, Carpenter has also dropped a chilling new single, “Revenge.” It’s from the accompanying soundtrack album Cathedral, which arrives this Friday, August 7. Watch it below.

The Graphic Novel: Step Inside the Catacombs
Set inside an abandoned, rotting church in downtown Los Angeles, Cathedral begins with the brutal murder of a police officer.
The tragic crime draws a team of detectives, Lieutenant Christine Marks, Paul Hernandez, and Steve Mayfield, into the long-ignored structure. But in true John Carpenter fashion, a routine investigation quickly descends into absolute horror. The detectives follow clues deep into the subterranean catacombs, where a centuries-old evil is waiting to punch its timecard.
Upcoming Appearances & Retrospectives
Fans can meet the Master of Horror in person. There are several major events he will appear at this summer and fall. Carpenter will make special guest appearances at both Midsummer Scream in Long Beach, CA, and Fan Expo in Chicago, IL. Beginning September 28, 2026, The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles will feature the John Carpenter: Prince Of Darkness screening series as part of its major The Horror Show exhibition.
