A chilling descent into familial horror, Rosario marks Felipe Vargas’ haunting feature directorial debut. The recently released trailer has sent shivers down spines, showcasing an eerie and downright terrifying glimpse into a world where the past refuses to stay buried and supernatural terrors reign.

An Evil Unleashed

Emeraude Toubia plays the titular character, Rosario, a successful stockbroker on Wall Street. However, her world is thrown into disarray when she’s forced to spend a night with the body of her estranged grandmother, Griselda, who has abruptly passed away. Adding to the unsettling atmosphere, David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil) portrays Joe, a watchful and unsettling neighbor, while José Zúñiga plays Rosario’s father, Oscar. Diana Lein and Paul Ben-Victor round out the talented cast.

The film’s premise sets the stage for a claustrophobic and intensely suspenseful narrative. A heavy snowstorm traps Rosario inside Griselda’s apartment, isolating her from the outside world and amplifying her growing dread. As the night stretches on, Rosario finds herself confronted by supernatural forces that have taken possession of Griselda’s corpse.

What begins as a somber vigil quickly becomes a terrifying battle for survival. Rosario discovers that she has become the target of a deadly family curse—a generational evil that threatens to consume her soul. To break this curse and save herself, she must confront the dark secrets of her past. She will have to challenge everything she thought she knew about her family.

A Chilling Vision

Felipe Vargas’ directorial vision creates a chilling atmosphere, blending psychological horror and supernatural elements. The trailer effectively conveys the film’s eerie tone, showcasing the claustrophobic setting and the unsettling presence of the possessed Griselda.

Emeraude Toubia’s performance promises to be a tour de force, capturing Rosario’s growing fear and desperation. David Dastmalchian’s unsettling portrayal of Joe adds another layer of unease, leaving viewers questioning his true intentions.

Rosario is more than just a horror film; it’s an exploration of family secrets, generational trauma, and the terrifying power of the past. The film’s narrative delves into the complexities of familial relationships, revealing the dark undercurrents that can lurk beneath seemingly normal surfaces.

Coming Soon

The film will be released in the United States on May 2, 2025. Prepare for a night of unrelenting terror as Rosario unravels its chilling secrets and confronts the darkness that lurks within.
