Tubi’s upcoming Terror on Tubi event is set to deliver a major treat for fans with the arrival of R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2. Expanding the eerie lore, the streaming service has enlisted horror Royalty Cassandra Peterson, best known worldwide as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Peterson steps into the shoes of an ancient magic wielder fittingly named Cassandra. Her character holds the key to understanding the sinister entities threatening the town of Redhaven, as well as the grim price required to hold them at bay.
Delighted to collaborate with the famed children’s horror author, Peterson said playing the formidable mystic felt like a natural fit.
“R.L. Stine and I have been in the business of scaring kids for a long time, so joining Pumpkinhead 2 was such a treat,” Peterson states. “Playing Cassandra was the perfect ‘witchy’ role for me.”

Returning to the Haunted Town of Redhaven
The first film centered on Evan, a stressed-out student dealing with a ruthless pack of bullies and a missing brother. Desperate, he accidentally unearths a forbidden spellbook that revives an ancient curse over his hometown of Redhaven. Naturally, this causes the demonic, pumpkin-headed children of previous sacrifices to claw their way out of the dirt. And they are eager to claim the entire town during its annual Harvest Festival.
Premiering on Tubi on October 9, 2026, the sequel builds directly upon the events of the hit original film. Director and writer Jem Garrard returns to helm the sequel, which follows protagonists Sam and Becka. They must race against time to stop the reawakened curse threatening their community.
The franchise itself originated as an adaptation of a beloved episode from R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour television series. The initial movie follow-up, which debuted in October 2025, introduced audiences to Sam’s desperate quest to rescue his forgotten brother, Finn, from a terrifying harvest entity before the final hours of Halloween expired.
A Gateway for the Next Generation
The first installment earned praise for striking a careful balance between youthful adventure and genuine Halloween thrills. With its dark twist ending and nostalgic tone, the franchise continues to position itself as essential fall viewing for audiences raised on Goosebumps and classic spooky storytelling.
