Josh Ruben’s Valentine’s Day-themed slasher franchise is finally moving forward. Paramount Pictures has officially adjusted the theatrical release strategy for Heart Eyes 2. It has moved the highly anticipated horror sequel up by a week. Originally slated for February 11, 2028, the feature is now scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on February 4, 2028.
The Original Valentine’s Day Terror
The original 2025 release introduced horror fans to a brutal new slasher mythos centered around the elusive “Heart Eyes Killer.” In the first installment, the masked murderer targeted romantic couples on Valentine’s Day. He unleashed a wave of violence that left no relationship safe. The film starred Mason Gooding (Scream) and Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer). Paramount has not yet confirmed whether either cast member will reprise their role for the upcoming chapter.
Key Creative Talent Behind the Sequel
Director Josh Ruben returns to expand the franchise, co-writing with screenwriter Darcy Fowler. High-profile genre veterans Christopher Landon and Michael Kennedy conceived the sequel’s story, with Landon also stepping into a producing role.
With a refined release window and a proven creative team, Heart Eyes 2 aims to deliver another dark, suspenseful entry for holiday horror enthusiasts in early 2028.
