Acclaimed director Osgood Perkins is back in the spotlight with his highly anticipated project, The Young People. Known for delivering moody, atmospheric horror masterpieces like The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Longlegs, The Monkey, and Keeper, Perkins continues to solidify his status as a modern master of dread. Ahead of his latest release, horror fans are eagerly dissecting every detail surrounding this next chapter in his filmography. The film marks the fourth project Perkins and distributor Neon have made together in just three years.

Production Wraps in Vancouver

Filming officially wrapped after an intensive late-fall production schedule in Vancouver, British Columbia. Moving swiftly through its timeline, the feature transitioned into post-production to refine its sound design, visual effects, and haunting score. Several high-profile production companies back the venture, including Oddfellows Entertainment, Range Media Partners, and Lyrical Media, with Neon co-financing the feature.

A Star-Studded Ensemble Cast

The film boasts an extraordinary ensemble of acclaimed cinema icons and fresh talent alike. Nicole Kidman, whose Practical Magic 2 has just hit theaters, leads the stunning lineup. Tatiana Maslany, Johnny Knoxville, and Heather Graham join Kidman. Nico Parker and Lola Tung also join the fray. The impressive supporting cast also includes Sam Krochmal, Cush Jumbo, Brendan Hines, Lexi Minetree, and Lily Collias, creating an exceptionally versatile group under Perkins’ direction.

A Sinister Tale of Drifting Friendships

While specific plot details remain closely guarded, the story centers around two school friends who slowly drift apart. However, their bond takes a terrifying turn as one friend begins exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior that transforms their relationship into a dark nightmare. Speculation suggests the narrative may eventually dive into cosmic horror territory, adding a grand, unsettling dimension to the intimate psychological drama.
