“Dexter: Resurrection“ Season 2 is already slaughtering streaming records. Undeniably, the twenty-year-old franchise has survived mixed times. Still, Jeff Lindsay’s vigilante captivates the world. Naturally, Michael C. Hall embodies Dexter Morgan perfectly. As a result, this bloody franchise only improves with age. This acclaimed spinoff also offers a wonderfully fresh perspective.

Breaking Records

Dexter has returned to a chaotic New York. Subsequently, the October 30 premiere sparked massive audience chatter. Remarkably, his return boasts a 98% audience score. Therefore, this Rotten Tomatoes rating sets a franchise record. Critics also gave it a solid 88% fresh rating. In other words, it’s a major hit. And rightfully so, this season is incredible.

A Midlife Crisis and Family Drama

Veteran showrunner Clyde Phillips also produces these thrilling episodes. Specifically, Dexter faces a deadly, two-front killer crossfire. First, a veteran murderer constantly haunts his every move. Next, a terrifying newcomer aggressively terrorizes New York City. At the same time, Dexter wrestles with a severe midlife crisis. He’s also still coping with last season’s events, when he was introduced to the group of serial killers hosted by Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). Consequently, these mounting threats force him to face mortality.

Like Father, Like Son

His son Harrison remains the true emotional core. Brilliantly, Jack Alcott plays this deeply troubled young man. Harrison has a new job: he’s joined the police department, which creates conflict as Dexter continues his mission to kill serial killers. Harrison is also still coping with the first season’s events, when he proved that like father, like son.

An Incredible Cast

A massive heavyweight cast joins Hall this season. Notably, returning favorites include Uma Thurman and Kadia Saraf. Likewise, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine and Dominic Fumusa return. Additionally, Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine, and Brian Cox join the cast. Horror icon Kane Hodder even makes a cameo in the first episode.

Meanwhile, James Remar returns as Dexter’s nagging ghostly father. Similarly, Fumusa eagerly discussed his own tough detective role. Also, Mwine expressed sheer joy about his character. Finally, Desmond Harrington has joined the cast, reprising his role as Detective Quinn from the original series.

The excited cast teased this upcoming chaotic new season in our recent pre-season interview. Watch it now.
