One of the best series on TV is Peacock’s adaptation of the Twisted Metal game. The high-octane action of “Twisted Metal is continuing to deliver pure, brutal mayhem and dark humor in its second season. New episodes are dropping every week, with jaw-dropping twists, surprising alliances, and a whole lot of car-crushing carnage as drivers compete to win the race and claim the prize, a wish.
Anthony Mackie returns as John Doe, and Stephanie Beatriz as the formidable Quiet. Will Arnett is back to voice Sweet Tooth, whose physical presence is brought to life by Joe Seanoa.
One of the recently introduced characters in season two, Axel, is played by Michael James Shaw. You will recognize Shaw from his role as Corvus Glaive in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He also had a recurring role on “The Walking Dead” as Michael Mercer.
Axel stands out against the other drivers in “Twisted Metal.” Axel is literally the axle of his vehicle. He stands in the middle between two giant wheels, his arms connecting them. This guy is big, bad, and imposing as hell, and guzzles gasoline like a soft drink. However, he’s actually a charming guy in real life. I had a conversation with Michael James Shaw about his role as Axel and more. You can watch it below.
I highly recommend you watch “Twisted Metal” if you haven’t already. It’s got everything: love, humor, action, brutal bloodshed, vehicular carnage, and more. Be sure to stay tuned as we regularly give sneak peeks at upcoming episodes.
