If your favorite flavor of horror is “existential dread with a side of neon,” you’re going to want to watch I Live Here Now. The feature debut from director Julie Pacino sounds like a descent into madness, prioritizing psychological unraveling over cheap thrills.

Fame, Family, and Fractured Reality

The story follows Rose (Lucy Fry), a struggling actress who is finally on the verge of her “big break.” She’s got the industry’s most formidable agent, Cindy Abrams (Cara Seymour), in her corner and a career-defining role within her grasp.

But because the universe loves irony, Rose’s world is upended by a bombshell personal crisis just as her professional life takes flight. Add in her boyfriend, Travis (Matt Rife), who decides this is the optimal time to unleash his overbearing mother (Sheryl Lee) on her. Rose hits the breaking point.

Rose flees to The Crown Inn, a crumbling motel at the edge of nowhere. But this isn’t a weekend getaway. It’s a place where time fractures, sleep paralysis takes hold, and reality bends until it snaps.

A Vibe Captured on Film

What makes I Live Here Now stand out in the digital age is its visual DNA. Pacino opted for the raw, tactile texture of 35mm, interspersed with striking 16mm sequences.

This isn’t just a stylistic choice; it’s a way to capture the “splintered memories” and “dreamlike psychodrama” at the heart of the script. It’s a story about the trauma your body remembers even when your mind is desperately trying to hit “delete.”

An Ensemble of Icons

The cast list reads like a dream-logic crossroads of genre legends and modern stars. Lucy Fry (Vampire Academy) stars alongside  Matt Rife (Wild’ N Out) and Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale). In a nod to the masters of the surreal, the cast includes Sheryl Lee—yes, Laura Palmer herself—and American Psycho alum Cara Seymour.

How to See It

Produced by Kyle Kaminsky, I Live Here Now is a haunting exploration of the thin line between memory and madness. For those who want to experience the haunting visuals, you’re in luck. It hits VOD on April 21, 2026.

If you see a flickering neon sign in the middle of the desert, maybe keep driving. But if you’re looking for the most stylish psychological thriller of 2026, I Live Here Now is the destination.
