Guillermo Del Toro’s dark, gothic tale, Crimson Peak, will premiere on Digital HD on January 26th, followed by its DVD and Blu-ray release on February 9th via Universal.
The film follows the story of an aspiring writer who is torn between her love for an old friend and the appeal of a mysterious stranger. While struggling to cope with her past, she is married and swept away to a decaying old manor that has a life of it’s own. The halls of the sprawling manor are filled with spirits that have set their sites on the new bride.
Crimson Peak has a truly incredible cast that includes Charlie Hunnam (Sons Of Anarchy) in the role of the handsome Dr. Alan McMichael. Fiery red head Jessica Chastain (MAMA) will fill the role of Lady Lucille Sharpe. The man of the house and the brother of Lady Lucille, Sir Thomas Sharpe, is played by The Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston. Lady Sharpe’s mysterious brother Sir Thomas Sharpe, has wed the lovely and delicate Edith Cuching played by Mia Wasikowska. Edith is a young, beautiful author, who seems lost in the manor that is filled with mystery and spirits. Crimson Peak also stars Burn Gorman (Pacific Rim), Supernatural ‘s Jim Beaver, Doug Jones (Hellboy) and many more seasoned actors.
