Last year it was announced that a reboot to Eli Roth’s 2002 outbreak film, Cabin Fever, was in the works via IFC Midnight. The reboot will soon be here. It will open in theaters and on VOD on February 12th, 2016, to be exact. The first photos from the new film have emerged.
The reboot, directed by Travis Zariwny, was originally described as an exact remake, but that rumor has since been clarified. The film was based on the original screenplay by Eli Roth, but it has now been stated that aspects of the new version will be completely different, including all new death scenes. In both films, five friends on spring break head to a remote cabin on a lake. After arriving a plague-like, flesh-eating virus takes hold.
The reboot stars Gage Golightly (Exeter), Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), Nadine Crocker (Deadgirl), Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3), Samuel Davis (Sin City), Randy Schulman (Wild), Louise Linton (The Echo) and features a cameo by Eli Roth.
