WGN announced late last night (1/22) that rocker Marilyn Manson has signed on to guest star in episodes of the upcoming season of Salem. Manson is already familiar with Salem, he collaborated with Tyler Bates to create the series’ opening score, as well as performing it. The song’s title, Cupid Carries A Gun.
The popular series follows a witches’ coven in 17th century Salem. The show explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials. Janet Montgomery plays the role of Mary Sibley, the head witch. Her ex-lover and father of her son, John Alden (Shane West) is set on wiping every one of the witches, but that’s a lot harder than it sounds. Seth Gabel co-stars as the local priest and John’s best friend, Cotton Mathers. Tamzin Merchant, Ashley Madekwe, Elise Eberle, Iddo Goldberg, Xander Berkley, Joe Doyle and Lucy Lawless round out the cast of this fantastic, intense, dark show.
Season 3 of Salem will pick up with the witches’ plan to create a new world. The 3rd season will premiere later this year.
