The Bye Bye Man, based on Robert Damon Schneck’s short story “The Bridge to Body Island”, is set to arrive in theaters on June 3rd, 2016 from STX Entertainment.
The film, set in Wisconsin in the 1990s, follows three collage students who have moved into an old house off-campus. There they find themselves preyed on by a supernatural entity called “The Bye Bye Man”. The friends must find a way to save themselves while keeping the haunting secret, to protect anyone else from becoming the entity’s next victim.
The Bye Bye Man stars Doug Jones, Michael Trucco, Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount, Carrie Ann Moss and Faye Dunaway. Stacy Title directed the film, which just wrapped filming in Cleveland. The script was penned by Jonathan Penner. Trevor Macy produced for Intrepid. Jeffery Soros and Simon Horsman produced for the Los Angeles Media Fund.
Doug Jones, cast as “The Bye Bye Man” is a legendary actor who has transformed himself into many epic characters, such Abe Sapein in Hellboy, the entities that haunted the halls of Crimson Peak, the “Ancient” in The Strain, the “Pale Man” in Pan’s Labyrinth, as well as many human roles. He has appeared in over 150 films.
