We reported earlier this month that Bill Skarsgard has been cast as Pennywise, originally played by Tim Curry, the terrifying entity that appears as a clown in the remake of the mini series based on Stephen King’s novel IT. Skarsguard, most well known for his role on Eli Roth’s Netflix Original series Hemlock Grove and in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, will be putting on full makeup for the first time.
Today, we finally get a look at Skarsgard as Pennywise, the clown that caused many people to develop a fear of all clowns, courtesy of a fan’s artwork. He looks scary in the poster below, but I look forward to seeing an actual photo of Skarsgard as the creepy clown.
Andy Muschietti (Mama) will be in the director’s chair for the two-part remake of IT. The first film centers on a group of teens, referred to as “The Losers Club”, who go head-to-head with the entity that takes the shape of a demented clown. The second will involve “The Losers Club” who have come back to town as adults and once again must face Pennywise.
