Horror fans we have fantastic news! IFC has now renewed ‘Stan Against Evil’ for a second season! The show’s first season leaves it as one of the most well received, and highest ranking series on IFC, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Stan Against Evil instantly connected with IFC viewers, making it one of the network’s most popular original series launches to date,” IFC president Jennifer Caserta said. “IFC is thrilled for another season of keeping Willard’s Mill safe from demons, monsters and succubuses, and we are enormously grateful for the talented John C. McGinley and Janet Varney, along with master storyteller Dana Gould, for bringing this oddly wonderful world to life.”
I will be quick to admit that ‘Stan Against Evil’ is one of my favorite new shows of 2016. It’s interesting, unique, gory, and funny as hell. John C. McGinley does not disappoint. His role as Stan, the former Sheriff of a small town plagued by witches, demons, and everything in between, is spot on and will leave you laughing non-stop. Janet Varney plays Evie, the new Sheriff who takes over after Stan suffers the loss of his wife, who we later learn was a secret demon hunter. Now, Stan and Evie, along with Stan’s daughter Denise (Deborah Baker Jr.), with an occasional helping hand from Deputy Leon (Nate Mooney), they must step up to fight the witches, spirits, and supernatural entities threatening their small town.
Here’s the season 1 trailer. If you haven’t seen ‘Stan Against Evil’, stop what you are doing and hunt it down now!
Congratulations to the cast and crew of ‘Stan Against Evil’! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
