Fans are thrilled about getting a new sequel in the Halloween franchise and the fact that Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to reprise her role as Laurie Strode just makes it sweeter.
The latest news is that filming has been delayed until mid-January. The reason? Casting is taking longer than expected. While much of the cast is being kept under wraps, we do know that Judy Greer (Jurassic World) has entered negotiations to play a key role, that of Laurie Strode’s daughter, Karen Strode.
n the new film, “Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”
It sounds as if the film, directed by David Gordon Green, will act as if every film of the franchise beyond the original Halloween never existed.
Green co-wrote the “reinvention” with Danny McBride. John Carpenter will provide the score as well as act as executive producer. Both Green and McBride will serve as executive producers along with Carpenter. Malek Akkad of Trancas and Jason Blum of Blumhouse will be producing.
The original release was set for on October 19, 2018. We do not know at this time if that date will change.
