Taika Waititi, the director behind Thor: Ragnarok, also brought us the horror-comedy What We Do in the Shadows which he co-directed and starred in along with Jemaine Clement, is preparing to bring us a series by the same name.
Recently we reported that FX had ordered the pilot. Now, we can share the happy news that FX has ordered the first 10 episodes of the half-hour series which is aiming for a Spring 2019 premiere, Variety reports.
“Set in New York City, the series follows three vampires who have been roommates for hundreds and hundreds of years.”
Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Harvey Guillen, and Natasia Demetriou will star. Waititi, Clement, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, Garrett Basch, and Paul Simms will executive produce. Waititi directed the pilot written by Clement.
FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” isn’t the only show in the works for the franchise, a spin-off series of the movie, titled “Wellington Paranormal”, will soon premiere in New Zealand.
