Fans of Jack Black, Kyle Gass, their band Tenacious D, and their movie The Pick of Destiny, are about to lose their shit! After 12 years we are finally getting a sequel!
That’s right, a sequel! During the band’s performance at the Shaky Knees Music Festival on Sunday Jack Black announced that the movie will be out this October, COS reports.
I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out,” Black said to the crowd.
Released in November of 2006, the film, while not drawing a crowd at the box office ($8.2 Million), the movie quickly became a cult classic amongst fans.
In the movie, to become the greatest band of all time, two slacker, rocker-wannabes who call themselves “Tenacious D”, sets out on a quest to steal a legendary guitar pick that bestows incredible skills to its owner. The Two must face a horde of challenges during their mission, including facing the Devil himself.
