There’s a lot of weird, twisted web series out there. One is the British horror comedy series “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared“, imagine if you will, “Sesame Street” on acid.
The dark web series hails from British filmmakers Becky Sloan and Joseph Pelling who are bringing their weird series to American TVs, Deadline reports.
“A U.S. TV version of the British web series is in the works at Turner’s Super Deluxe Studio. It comes from Blink Industries, producers of the original shorts, and Conan O’Brien’s Conaco. A spec pilot has been produced with plans to shop it to streaming or cable networks.”
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared premiered in 2011 but hasn’t posted a new episode since 2016. Deadline’s released the new thirty-second trailer with their announcement, which is titled “Wakey Wakey”.
We see the series premiere sometime next year. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, check out the web series, but please don’t let your kids watch it.
