Folk Horror Tale ‘Midsommar’ Gets An Early Release Date

Originally set to be released in August, news has come out of CinemaCon that Ari Aster‘s (Hereditary) folk horror film  Midsommar has been moved up by a month.

 

Jack Reynor, Will Poulter, Florence PughVilhem Blomgren, Ellora Torchia, William Jackson Harper, and Archie Madekwe star in Midsommar about a” couple that travels to Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.”

 

 

 

 

A24 will release Midsommar in theaters on the new date, July 3, 2019.
