Zack Snyder, the director who brought us the James Gunn-written Dawn of the Dead remake back in 2004, makes his return to the zombie genre with Netflix’s Army of the Dead. Filming has now begun on the movie which the director calls the most “balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen.”
Star Dave Bautista has shared the first image from the set, a group photo of the entire cast, which also includes Ana De La Reguera, Ella Purnell, Huma Qureshi, Chris D’Elia, Theo Rossi, and Garret Dillahunt.
“The film is set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”
