Horror fans will be excited to learn that apparently a new Scream film is currently in development at Spyglass.
It’s been nearly a decade since the Scream 4 was released. While there’s no word on exactly what the film be, reportedly, Spyglass will be bringing back the three main cast members of the franchise, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette. While it hasn’t been confirmed, it does give hope to fans that it will be a real sequel and not a reboot that no one wants to see.
This will be the first film of the franchise not directed by Wes Craven. As of right now, Kevin Williamson who wrote most of the franchise is not returning either.
Hopefully, we’ll learn more soon. In the meantime, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that the new film is a true sequel with the original cast. In the meantime, fans can see Ghostface in action in the fourth season of the “Scream” series set to premiere in July of 2020.
