Knives Out continues to kill at the box office bringing in nearly $250 million around the world, so it’s no surprise that director Rian Johnson is already working on a sequel.

Last night at the Golden Globes, where the murder-thriller Knives Out was nominated for three awards, Johnson told THR about the sequel. According to the site:

Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter at Lionsgate’s pre-Golden Globes party on Saturday night that he was already developing a sequel centered on Daniel Craig’s Southern detective Benoit Blanc investigating a new case.

In the 2019 film, a “renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.”

Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, and Jaeden Martell also star in Knives Out, a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

Reportedly, Johnson plans to make the film this year.
