Jessica M. Thompson (The Light of the Moon) is sinking her teeth into the role of director for the Dracula-inspired vampire film The Bride, starring “Game of Thrones” actress Nathalie Emmanuel and Garret Hedlund (Tron: Legacy).
“The pic is a contemporary horror thriller that tells the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.”
Thompson will direct from the script penned by Blair Butler that Thompson revised, Deadline reports.
Sony Screen Gems is fast-tracking The Bride with filming set to begin later this summer. The studio is hoping The Bride will kick off a new franchise.
The Bride is not the only vampire flick headed your way, the MCU’s highly anticipated movie Morbius is coming, there’s Jamie Foxx’s Day Shift starring Snoop Dogg, Dark West, and Gary Dauberman’s Salem’s Lot reboot, just to name a few. Oh, and Epix has a series adaptation of Salem’s Lot starring Adrien Brody set to premiere in 2022.
