Netflix’s series Daredevil has been racking up quite a fan base, and it’s understandable, the show is fantastic. Now that the series is preparing to film season 2, the new cast announcements are beginning to come in. Earlier today I learned that ‘The Walking Dead’ actor Jon Bernthal has signed on to play the role of Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher.
The character Frank Castle/The Punisher was created by comic book writer Gerry Conway and artists Ross Andru and John Romita Sr., publisher Stan Lee gave the character his name. The first appearance of the character in ‘The Amazing Spider Man’ issue 129. Castle’s back story is a sad one. The ex Marine, along with his wife Maria and their children witnessed a Mafia execution. The Mafia, in attempts to kill all witnesses, murdered the family, not knowing that Frank had managed to survive. After he recovered, in hiding, he declared a one man mission to punish criminals and the ones who executed his family. Wearing body armor, the man in black wages his war on crime in the name of justice, and revenge.
The premier date for ‘Daredevil’s’ season 2 has not been announced yet, but I will update you all as soon as it’s known.
