A Celebration Of The Worst Horror Films: The Leprechaun Series

Photo by Anna and Michael / CC BY-SA 2.0 The Leprechaun films are loosely based on the mythology of Ireland’s ‘Little green man’ Every now and again, a stroke of creative genius leads to the creation of films that simultaneously entertaining and really, really bad. The Leprechaun franchise is one such creation. It has amassed a cult following of fans who aren’t afraid to admit just how terrible the films are, but at the same time can’t help but derive enjoyment from watching them. This is a celebration of the very worst of the horror genre! There are seven films in the Leprechaun series. The first was released in 1993, while the latest addition, the prequel ‘Origins’, came out in 2014. Each installment of the comedy-horror film featured Warwick Davis, perhaps the film’s only saving grace, apart from the last one. For those who still can’t get enough of the Leprechaun, SyFy is rebooting the series for release in 2019.

Jennifer Tilly is an actress and voice-over artist who has appeared in numerous animations and movies of various genres and different critical reception, from less praised films to the Academy Awards nominated Bullets over Broadway. However, she is probably best known for the part she plays in “Chucky” franchise. And we can safely say, there is no Chucky without her. With the release of the Cult of Chucky on October 3rd, the series gains its newest, seventh edition. All just in time for the jolliest time of the year (Halloween). The Park (2015) PC Review

“The Park” is a short narrative horror game (approx 3-4 hours’ gameplay) set in a derelict theme park. Seeking your son who has run ahead of you and has vanished out of sight. As you search for him, you’ll start to unravel the history of the park as well as begin to experience more of the horrors within both the park and yourself. It’s a game that probably merits the unfortunate tag “walking simulator” similar to Firewatch but in a positive way. It doesn’t feel forced in any way. The game is VERY atmospheric. If you’ve ever wanted to explore a terrifying amusement park after-hours but don’t have the guts to in real life and because it’s highly illegal I’m sure, this is the game for you! There are a few jump-scares but they are executed well and in no way cheap or tacky. A great play for fans of games like ‘Outlast’ and ‘Amnesia’ although not as hands-on as
