A few nights ago I sat down to watch The Lullaby. It was far from what I was expecting, just another indie horror film. The film was dark and fantastic and left me lying awake that night with thoughts swirling around in my head. Reine Swart (Dominion, Z Nation, Detour, Die Pro), the film’s lead actress left me impressed with what I believe is the best performance in a genre film that I have seen in a very long time. Of course when I had the opportunity to interview Reine I jumped at the chance. Reine took us inside the mind of her character Chloe in The Lullaby, directed by Darrell Roodt and written by Tarryn-Tanille Prinsloo. In the film, after returning to her hometown, overwhelmed by the birth of her baby, Chloe tries to come to terms with motherhood. Despite the support from her mother, Ruby, Chloe struggles with the demands of being a new mom. The growing sense

Case, Jarrod Robbins, Halley Heisick, Lindsey Eshelman, Daniel Pappas, and Javier E. Gómez. It was important for me to create work that shows the female characters as they are in real life – none of us are waiting to be saved by some prince charming”, said director and co-producer Luciana Faulhaber. Javier E. Gomez, a co-producer of Don’t Look and co-founder with Luciana of Enuff Productions, had this to say: I am thankful to Wild Eye Releasing for believing in ‘Don’t Look’, and introducing our

Legendary horror actor-director-producer Larry Fessenden is poised to make his return to the director’s chair with his Frankenstein inspired film Depraved. New details recently came to light during an interview Fessenden had with Daily Dead. Depraved, “a re-imagining of Mary Shelley’s timeless classic Frankenstein, centers on Henry, a field surgeon suffering from PTSD after combat in the Middle East, who creates a man out of body parts in a makeshift lab in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The creature he creates must navigate a strange new world and the rivalry between Henry and his conniving collaborator Polidori.” In a funny way, I want to make all the classics again,” Fessenden told the site. “I’ve made a vampire movie. I want to make a werewolf movie, but Frankenstein is one of the greatest creations of pop culture. The original version is a masterpiece, and oddly enough, it’s a story that hasn’t been done that well since. And it’s often attempted. I feel there’s a
