The only thing scarier than Freddy Krueger, is another Nightmare on Elm Street remake. Another remake? Please wake me from this nightmare! As if the 140 plus remakes in the works wasn’t bad enough, New Line is doing another revamp of one of our most beloved horror franchises. David Leslie Johnson, the writer of 2009’s ‘Orphan’, is set to pen the script for the presently unnamed movie. No directer has been named as of yet. Reportedly the new movie will bypass the 2010 remake, completely. Too bad another reboot couldn’t be bypassed completely. As far as I’m concerned, there is only one Freddy, Robert Englund, so, unless he’s signed up, I’m not interested. Just in case you were wondering how Robert Englund felt about the 2010 remake, this should clear things up.

Viewers were fainting in the aisles and vomiting during the recent premier of a new horror movie. The new film ‘Bite’ had their debut screening at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. People assumed that the barf bags given out were all for show, like the advertising ploy used for many horror movies in the 1970’s and early 1980’s , but it didn’t take long for the bags to come in handy. ‘Bite’ is already being compared to the 1986 classic ‘The Fly’, only more vile and graphic. The word is, ‘Bite’ is even harder to stomach than ‘The Human Centipede’. If you are wondering what mind created this twisted tale, that would be writer-director Chad Archibald, who also wrote and directed ‘The Drownsman’. ‘Bite’ follows Casey, played by Elm Begovic, a bride-to-be. When she joins her bridesmaids and friends for a bachelorette trip to an island, she is bitten by a strange insect and soon starts to transform into

Horror shows, like Supernatural, Grimm, The Walking Dead and The Strain, have been big money makers for networks lately. NBC will be adding a new show, ‘Monstropolis’, to their line up after winning a bidding war . ‘Monstropolis’ will be written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, the writers who penned ‘Saw VI’ and ‘Saw 5’ and who also wrote the upcoming Michael Myers movie, ‘Halloween Returns’. I doubt there is any connection, but Monstropolis is also the name of the city where monsters live, in the animated movie ‘Monsters Inc.’ In ‘Monstropolis’, monsters are very real and are living beside humans in New Manhattan aka ‘Monstropolis’. When someone begins killing the city’s monsters it’s up to a disgraced detective to catch the serial killer. The show is still in early pre-production. There is no word at this time who will star in ‘Monstropolis’. Stay tuned for more details.
