It’s been called “one of 2018’s best undistributed films” (SlashFilm) and now you can also call it a Shudder Exclusive. Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, announced today that it has picked up all rights to writer-director Issa Lopez’s acclaimed feature Tigers Are Not Afraid where you can see it later this year. I’m incredibly happy to announce that Shudder will distribute Tigers Are Not Afraid for English-language audiences,” said Lopez. “Shudder is an outstanding curator of the best and the weirdest of international fantastic cinema, including many of my favorite new movies from trailblazing filmmakers. The opportunity to have Tigers Are Not Afraid among them is an absolute honor.” Lopez’s film combines horror and fantasy to deliver a moving portrait of the dire circumstances of the children left behind by Mexico’s brutal drug wars. Estrella ( Paolo Lara) is ten-years-old and alone. Given three magical wishes, she asks first that her missing mother come

We know it’s a Spaghetti Western with Danzig in the director’s chair, and we know casting will soon begin. At this time that’s all that we know about the mysterious film. Don’t get his projects confused. Danzig’s vampire western is not the same project announced last year, an anthology based on his comic series Verotik.

Earlier today we reported that “Swamp Thing” was in jeopardy as is the streaming network DC Universe. The series, originally set to feature 13 episodes has been cut down to 10 with rewrites ordered. The studio suddenly halted production before the last 3 episodes could be filmed. Within the past few hours, DC Universe has released a teaser trailer for “Swamp Thing” which I imagine was to boost fans’ interest along with giving fans confidence. The first teaser gives us our first look at Swamp Thing, played by Derek Mears (Friday the 13th (2009), Men in Black II), and he looks a lot like the comic book character he was based on by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Crystal Reed, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott, and Maria Sten also star. “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman penned the series’ script. As far as

The last time we reported on DC Universe’s “Swamp Thing” was set to premiere in May. Now, troubling news is being reported by Star New Online. According to the outlet, production on the James Wan-produced series has been shut down early, leaving the series’ future hanging in the balance. Star reports, “The currently in-production project is being shut down earlier than expected as its producer, Warner Bros., evaluates the future of its DC Universe streaming service, on which the series was scheduled to premiere on May 31, according to several sources within the local industry.” They went on to say, “Local crew members were notified of the unexplained development Tuesday night, and were told the project would wrap production on episode 10 then halt as writers and producers rewrite an ending. Initially, the show was scheduled to film 13 episodes through May.” Cutting the season short? Rewrites? That doesn’t sound good for “Swamp Thing” and its stars, Jennifer Beals, Virginia

Before I begin this review I would like to clear something up. Like many, when I saw the trailer for Netflix’s The Silence I assumed that it was a rip off of A Quiet Place. But here’s the thing, The Silence is based on Tom Lebbon’s novel by the same name, the same book The Quiet Place was inspired by. That means that they are adaptations of the same book. Netflix actually began work on The Silence before A Quiet Place even began filming. Even though there are similarities, the two films are pretty different when it comes to the story. What I’m saying is, The Silence is NOT a ripoff. What are the similarities between The Silence and The Quiet Place? First, they both feature creatures that attack when they hear a noise, but the creatures are very different. Both films to feature deaf characters and a family on the run. There are also two children in each movie.
