Director Daphné Baiwir Discusses New Documentary ‘King On Screen’ In Our Interview

The new documentary, King on Screen, dives into the film and TV adaptations of Stephen King’s iconic tales. Ahead of its release, I sat down with director Daphné Baiwir to discuss not only the documentary, which is fantastic, by the way, but also the legacy of King and the impressive list of filmmakers involved with the film. King on Screen introduces the filmmakers that have adapted Stephen King’s books and stories for cinema and TV, including Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Walking Dead), Tom Holland (The Langoliers, Chucky), Mick Garris (The Stand, Sleepwalkers) and Taylor Hackford (Dolores Claiborne, Ray). It also takes you behind the scenes and reveals the love they have for King’s work. King On Screen is a must-see for both fans of Stephen King and Cinema in general. It opens in select theaters on August 11, 2023, followed by its arrival On Demand and Blu-ray on September 8, 2023, from Dark Star Pictures.

Movie Review: Mike Flanagan’s Film Adaptation Of Stephen King’s “Gerald’s Game”

Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s Gerald’s Game is now out on Netflix and I have some thoughts. In the film, Jessie and Gerald Burlingame are going to their secluded lake house on a weekend trip. Their marriage is strained, and their love life has turned stagnant, but Gerald has something in mind to reignite that old flame, as it were. They arrive at their home, and everything is ready: landscaping done, house cleaned and prepared, pantry and fridge are stocked. Now it’s time for a little “afternoon delight,” so Jessie puts on a new sexy slip that she bought especially for the occasion and waits for Gerald in the bedroom. He pops a little blue pill and cuffs her to the bed, and then the “game” begins. However, Jessie is not fond of the rough turn Gerald’s game takes and rebuffs his attempt to fulfill what is little more than a rape fantasy. She begs him to uncuff her,

Movie Review: Swamp Thing (1982) – MVD Rewind Collection 4K

Deep in the humid green hell of the Louisiana bayou, Dr. Alec Holland (Ray Wise, Twin Peaks) toils with his sister Linda (played by Nannette Brown… and changed from his wife in the DC Comics source material upon which this film is based) in a government-funded high tech lab hidden in an abandoned church. Because of that whole “government-funded” biz, Washington wants to keep the duo’s experiments involving rapid plant without soil under close scrutiny so they send Agent Alice Cable (Adrienne Barbeau, Escape From New York, The Fog, Creepshow… and gender swapped from the comic’s Matthew Cable, an ally/foe of Alec’s) to give it all the ol’ look-see. Unfortunately the Holland’s work has also fallen under the ghoulish gaze of suave villain Anton Arcane (Louis Jourdan) who plans on using the resulting chemical to make himself immortal, and he just up and steals the formula for that shit with the help of his private army lead by the sadistic

Get ready to sink your fangs into the second season of AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire.” During SDCC, a new sneak peek teaser was unveiled, giving fans a taste of the new season. The teaser features Daniel (Eric Bogosian) asking Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) if they can pick up where they left off. It also teases that the new season will center around the Théâtre des Vampires and Armand’s (Assad Zaman) coven. It also gives us a look at Delainey Hayles, who is taking over the role of Claudia from Bailey Bass, who has exited the series. Anne Rice fans and fans of the original movie adaptation know that when it comes to Louis and Claudia meeting the Théâtre des Vampires, things don’t go well. “A sensuous, contemporary reinvention of Anne Rice’s revolutionary gothic novel, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia’s (Bailey

Jason Blum Gives Update On The New ‘Spawn’ Movie

After years of rumors, and delays, Blumhouse’s Spawn may actually finally be on its way soon. In October 2022, creator Tod McFarlane announced that he was teaming up with Blumhouse for a new Spawn movie starring Jamie Foxx, with Scott Silver, Matthew Mixon, and Malcolm Spellman set to pen the script. McFarlane has since stepped aside, and the movie is now searching for a new director. It’s been pretty much radio silence until recently when Jason Blum gave a minor update during a talk with ComicBook.com. According to the horror heavy-hitter, the movie is still on the way and is expected to premiere in 2025. “I would say you have a lot to hope for because it’s in very very active development,” Blum told ComicBook.com. “What needs to happen is that my fellow friends the writers and the studios need to figure out their differences and get back to writing, but we’ve got a great group of folks putting it
