The cast for Sony’s vampire Spider-Man spinoff Morbius continues to grow. Deadline is reporting that “The Terror” star Jared Harris has signed on along with previously announced stars Matt Smith and Adria Arjona. Jared Leto stars as Michael Morbius, a scientist who, while trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire. Though disgusted by his own bloodlust, he chooses to prey upon criminals he deems unworthy of life. Daniel Espinosa (Life) directs from the script penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless based on the character created by writer Roy Thomas. Morbius made his debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101. Morbius opens in theaters on July 31, 2020.

AMC has just unveiled a new teaser for their upcoming series “NOS4A2” based on Joe Hill’s novel of the same name. For the first time, we actually get to see a hint of what the show holds in store. A Set in blue-collar New England, the story is a coming of age tell centering on Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings), who discovers that she has the power to find lost things. Her gift sets her on a collision course with Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto), a mysterious supernatural villain who kidnaps children in his Rolls Royce Wraith. Netflix adaptation of “Locke and Key” has added Felix Mallard (“Neighbours”) to the growing cast that already includes Petrice Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Griffin Gluck, Darby Stanchfield, and Laysla De Oliveira. Variety reports that Mallard has been cast in the key role of Lucas Caravaggio, a charming young man whose exposure to magic leads to serious complications in the town of Matheson. “Locke & Key”, based on the comic of the same name from Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, centers on three siblings who move to their ancestral home after their father is gruesomely murdered. Once there, they discover the house contains magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, an evil demon also wants to lay its clutches on the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them. The Netflix series will feature a 10-episode first season.

Back in 2015, fans were crushed when NBC canceled the supernatural series “Constantine.” Fans’ (known as Hellblazers) efforts went so far as circulating petitions to bring the series back for another season to no avail. Even though an animated series did bring the character back to life and he did appear in “Arrow”, it just wasn’t the same. It’s been four years and just when we thought we’d never see another episode of “Constantine,” but we were wrong. That’s right, the bad boy is back! A new “Constantine” series is in development at Warner Bros. and they want Matt Ryan to reprise his role! With “Swamp Thing” premiering this May it’s a perfect time to bring back “Constantine“, exorcist and practitioner of the dark arts. When the new Hellboy movie was first announced I was a bit disappointed to hear that Ron Perlman would not be reprising his role as Hellboy. But when it was revealed that “Stranger Things” star David Harbour had been cast as the star, my curiosity was peaked. This time Guillermo del Toro is not involved. Neil Marshall is directing Hellboy, which has scored a hard “R” rating for violence. You may be wondering what makes Harbour’s Hellboy different from the original. During a recent interview with Empire, Harbour explained how his version of the character is different. We’ve also got a new poster (below). News has now come that the DC Universe is about to have a zombie apocalypse. DC announced today, “DCeased” their six-issue miniseries. Clever name isn’t it? The comic series will be written by Tom Taylor (X-Men: Red) who is teaming up with artists Trevor Hairsine (Red Hoos and the Outlaws) and Stefan Gaudiano of “The Walking Dead”, along with James Harren, and Rain Beredo (Marvel Knights). “A mysterious techno-virus has been released on Earth, infecting 600 million people and turning them instantly into violent, monstrous engines of destruction. Steven Moffet and Mark Gatiss are teaming up once again for a new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. You may be wondering who will be playing the lead role. That would be Girl in the Spider’s Web (review) actor Claes Bang. Set in Victorian-era London, the miniseries will also star Gatiss, Dolly Wells, Luiza Richter, and John Heffernan. This is not the first “Dracula” series we’ve seen. The first premiered back in 2013 but was short lived. With Moffet and Gatiss having a long track record of successful series, having worked together on both “Doctor Who” and “Sherlock”, odds are we’ll be in for a good show this time around. Set to begin filming this Spring, the series is a co-production of Netflix and the BBC with the show airing in the U.S. on Netflix and on the BBC in the U.K.
