The “Swamp Thing” series is premiering later this month on the DC Universe streaming service. Ahead of its arrival, a new teaser trailer has arrived.
The James Wan-produced series stars Crystal Reed, Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Andy Bean, Will Patton, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott, and Maria Sten with Friday the 13th (2009) actor Derek Mears starring as Swamp Thing.
“Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.”
Directors of the show, inspired by the comic by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, include E.L. Katz and Len Wiseman. “Swamp Thing” is written by Mark Verheiden (Ash vs Evil Dead) and Gary Dauberman (IT).
