Saban Films Snags Horror Comedy ‘Come To Daddy’ Starring Elijah Wood

Saban Films has snagged the U.S. rights to producer Ant Timpson‘s Come to Daddy, his directorial debut which made its world premiere at Tribeca last month before heading to Cannes. Starring Elijah Wood, the horror-comedy centers on a man in his thirties who travels to a remote cabin to reconnect with his estranged father. Stephen McHattie (Watchmen, Pontypool) also stars along with Wood and Martin Donavan (Ant-Man, “Big Little Lies”). Toby Harvard penned the script based on Timpson’s story. The film was produced by Mette-Marie Kongsved and Laura Tunstall for Nowhere, Katie Holly for Blinder Films, Daniel Bekerman for Scythia Films, Emma Slade for Firefly Films, and Toby Harvard. Tango Entertainment financed the film which is a Canadian, New Zealand, and Irish co-production that also had support from the New Zealand Film Commission. Omar Epps Hunts A Killer In First Image From ‘Trick’ – From The Director Of ‘My Bloody Valentine’

Genre veteran Patrick Lussier has released the first image and comments for his latest film, the horror thriller Trick, featuring Omar Epps who leads the cast in the main role of Detective Mike Denver, a man obsessed with a serial killer that has remained one step ahead of him for years. Trick also stars Ellen Adair (Showtime’s “Homeland” and “Billions,” USA’s “The Sinner”) as Sheriff Lisa Jayne, the sheriff in the small town of Benton who has always considered Detective Denver as her mentor. Cheryl Winston, the only survivor of the latest round of killings in her small town, is played by Kristina Reyes (“Blindspot,” “Shades of Blue”). Talbott is played by frequent George A. Ahead of director Lorcan Finnegan‘s (Without Name) sci-fi thriller Vivarium making its world premiere this weekend as part of Cannes Critics’ Week Section, we have a clip to share with you that features Imogen Poots (Green Room) and Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) having a very strange encounter with a real estate agent. A Priest Transforms In A Raptor In The New Trailer For ‘The VelociPastor’

Forget werewolves, a troubled priest finds his way after becoming a wereraptor in writer-director Brendan Steere‘s action-packed movie The VelociPastor, coming later this year from Wild Eye Releasing. A priest on a mission to clean up the streets, a dinosaur, ninjas, blood, and gore, what more could you want? First Footage Of Alexandre Aja’s Horror Film ‘Crawl’ Shown At CinemaCon

News continues to fly out of CinemaCon. This time, the subject is Alexandre Aja‘s upcoming horror film Crawl whose first footage was revealed today at the Con. In Crawl, Kaya Scodelario plays a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida’s most savage and feared predators, the alligator. Barry Pepper, Ross Anderson, and Anson Boon are co-starring in the movie that is part creature feature, part horror, and part disaster movie. Actress Tracey Birdsall Wins Award From U.N.

Congratulations to actress Tracey Birdsall who has just won “Actress of the Year of Women in Film” at the Women in Film Forum, presented by WeLink Media Groups, at the United Nations. Birdsall, star of such films as Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter, Evolution War, and Who’s Jenna..?, was presented with the award at the Delegates Room Dining Hall at the UN on March 15th.
