What Keeps You Alive Set To Premiere At SXSW

It has now been announced that writer-director Colin Minihan’s What Keeps You Alive will be making its world premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival as part of their Midnighter’s line up. The thriller stars Hannah Emily Anderson hot off the heels of her role in Jigsaw, along with Brittany Allen (It Stains the Sands Red), Martha MacIsaac (Superbad), and Joey Klein who starred in the “12 Monkeys'” series. In the film, a female couple is pit against one another during their one-year anniversary. Austin, Texas’ SXSW will run from March 9th through March 18. You can find out more about the festival here. Horror Fuel Invades Days Of The Dead Atlanta

The Days of the Dead’s Atlanta convention has come and gone. This past weekend Horror Fuel invaded Days of the Dead Atlanta. We had a ball meeting actors like Malcolm McDowell (Halloween), Ray Wise (Jeepers Creepers 2), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th, Hatchet), Bill Moseley (Devil’s Rejects), Matthew Lillard (Scream), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Chosen Jacobs (IT 2017), Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT 2017), and Alex Vincent (Child’s Play), just to name a few. Of course, there were several actresses there as well, including Traci Lords (Cry-Baby) and Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist). Every time I go to DOTDAtl (this was my third year) it never fails, there are amazing artists selling their wares. So many paintings, prints, dolls, masks, jewelry, and a lot of clothing to check out. I picked up a few items myself, including a fantastic print by artist Doug Hoppes (the one over his right shoulder) and a signed horror-themed children’s book for my nephew, Scout, by Candy and

Women In Horror Month Kicks Off With The Soska’s Massive Blood Drive

February, the month bathed in red and pink. When you think of the month you think hearts, well, we think about something a little different, but it’s still about is all about love. February rings in a very important month for horror fans, it’s Women in Horror month! It’s a time when we celebrate all of the wonderful, brilliant, and badass women that make horror what it is. It’s also the month when the Soska sisters, Jen and Sylvia, roll out their ninth annual Massive Blood Drive. The lovely ladies gather together a fantastic group of filmmakers, actress, and actors to draw attention to the dire need for blood donations. Over 30 days 30 teams of filmmakers from around the world for a new Blood Service PSA. The first filmmaker up is Vanessa Ionta Wright, based in Atlanta, Georgia with the title “Be a Hero”. Supernatural Crime Thriller ‘Residue’ To Screen At Crypticon

IndustryWorks Studios, XLrator Media, and Motorcycle Boy Productions have announced a special screening of Residue at Crypticon on May 5, 2018, following its Blu-ray and DVD release last week in the US and Canada. Written and directed by Rusty Nixon, Residue tells the story of private investigator Luke Harding (James Clayton) who reads a book of sinister origins owned by seedy crime lord Mr. Fairweather (Matt Frewer). When Welsh Mari Lwyd Visits

In South Wales, not just Santa is expected to stop by your home for the holidays, keep an ear out; here comes the Mari Lwyd (Gray Mare)! Mari Lwyd is a Hobby Horse, those toy horses that was basically a stick with a stuff horse head on one end, the Welsh kept the stick but have a horse skull on the end of it! Just to add to it, a person carries the stick with the skull on it while draped in a white cloth most commonly giving the appearance that the Mari Lwyd is a tall cloaked figure with a horse skill sticking out from the hood. Depictions of “hooded animals” are quite common in the British Isles thanks to its pre-Christian Pagan beliefs which causes confusion when trying to track down the origin of this tradition since the first recorded account of this tradition appears in the 1800’s and scholars and folklore experts can’t seem to agree if

Christmas Zombies With Candy In ‘Dying Light’

Christmas time is here and gifts are coming from the folks at Techland in the form of Elf-dressed Zombies in ‘Dying Light’ the first-person survival horror game where players can craft weapons and use parkour skills to survive a zombie outbreak in a quarantined city. As of the 22nd of December, a community challenge called ‘Sharing is Caring’ where players have to treat the festive-looking zombies “naughty” enough to get 1 of 8 presents before the challenge ends on New Years Day. Basically what you have to do is play ‘Dying Light’ go to either Old Town or the Slums and start your journey and locate the festive zombies in green shirts and red and white striped pants, kill them and loot their bodies of Christmas candy! The best tactic I use to get close enough to these guys is to disguise myself (hence the yellow screen on the pic) so you’re invisible to the zombies and you just sneak
