It has now been announced that the “mind-bending” short Scifi/horror film Mainline is set to be screened at Chicago’s Cinepocalypse Film Festival on Saturday, June 23rd at 9:30 pm and Thursday, June 28th at 1:45 pm CT. Written and directed by Eric Kleifield, the short film is a “thrilling time-travel story that explores the dark side of advanced technology. Confined to his makeshift lab, a reclusive bioengineer must deal with the horrifying and deadly consequences of his injectable time-traveling serum.” The film made its world premiere at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in October 2017 and was nominated for both Best Horror Short Film and Best Short Film Director at the North Hollywood Cinefest in April 2018. “A lifelong sci-fi and horror fan, writer/director Eric Kleifield spent a year developing the film’s time-travel mechanics: “It took a lot of narrative experimentation, and many headache-inducing diagrams, to create a new take on time-travel that feels fresh and packs an emotional punch.

A new Comic Con is coming to Sacramento this month featuring some of the world’s biggest name in comics, celebrities, and creators. The Fandemic Tour Comic Con will bring its new tour to Sacramento this June. This year’s Fantasia Film Festival has announced the latest additions to their lineup. They have also announced that Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott’s highly anticipated Tales From the Hood 2 will be making its world debut at the festival which runs from July 12 to August 1st, along with other films. The full lineup of 130 films is to be announced on June 28th. Writer-director Kurt Knight‘s will take us back to medieval times with the supernatural thriller The Appearance, whose trailer has just arrived. Jake Stormoen (Extinct), “Game of Thrones” actor Kristian Nairn, Adam Johnson (Vamp U), and Baylee Self (The Outpost) star. “When a medieval monk unexpectedly dies in a horrific way, the Church sends Mateho the Inquisitor, a rational man of science, to investigate the alleged ‘witch’. When Mateho himself becomes implicated as more monks die mysteriously, he must learn that science cannot explain the horrors around him, before he is seduced by the evil that haunts this monastery. We are now past the midway mark to our favorite holiday, Halloween. One beloved Halloween tradition is Freeform’s (originally ABC Family) annual “13 Nights of Halloween“ marathon. This year it’s going to be different. You see, Freeform has announced (via Twitter) it is expanding the marathon from 13 to 31 nights. That’s right, the marathon will now be known as “31 Nights of Halloween“, The network is already teasing one of the new programs that will run in October, “Decorating Disney: Halloween” which will take viewers behind the scenes as both Disney World and Disneyland transform into a spooky, magical Halloween fun land. Talk about a treat! “31 Nights of Halloween” will begin on October 1, 2018. As soon as the schedule is released we will let you know.

Danish Director Lars Von Trier made his returns to the Cannes film festival after a seven-year ban for a controversial remark made at his last appearance where he jokingly said he sympathized with Adolf Hitler. Trier showcased his latest film, The House That Jack Built. The movie stars Matt Dillon as a serial killer named Jack. After the showing, the film received a six-minute standing ovation from the audience that significantly shrunk in size since the film started. Over 100 audience members walked out during the picture’s showing and immediately expressed their disgust for the film. One of the biggest factors that sparked the walkout was a scene where it shows the title character Jack graphically shooting children. Another factor that caused walkouts was the graphic depiction of murderous torture. If Trier wanted to make an impression at the festival that previously banned him, it seems he accomplished his goal. The House That Jack Built will be out in 2018

The Toronto True Crime Film Festival is gearing up for its first annual event this June 8th – 9th, 2018 at The Royal Cinema and Monarch Tavern in Toronto. The inaugural lineup includes five film screenings and three symposium events, with 15% of all pass and ticket sales being donated to charity. The Films Include: ABDUCTED IN PLAIN SIGHT Dir. To celebrate the approaching 30th anniversary of Killer Klowns From Outer Space the film’s composer, John Massari, is bringing it to life with a live-to-picture concert, Bacchanalian circus celebration and fan tribute to Hollywood on May 19th. The film will be screened at the storied Montalbàn Theater with the musical score performed live by The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra. But that’s not all. In addition, on May 18th, Varèse Sarabande Records will release Killer Klowns from Outer Space: Reimagined, a new recording of the soundtrack on CD and LP featuring the film’s original synth score performed by members of The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, including a guest performance by composer Bear McCreary (‘The Walking Dead’, ’10 Cloverfield Lane’, ‘Battlestar Galactica’), and new orchestrations from composer John Massari and more. The Fantasia International Film Festival is approaching its 22nd annual film festival in Montreal and the first round of films and events have been announced. FIFF will run from July 12, 2018, to August 1st, with its Frontières International Co-Production Market and Industry Rendez-Vous Weekend being held July 19th to the 22nd. The most anticipated Japanese film of 2018 will have its International Premiere at Fantasia 2018 and completely blow everyone’s minds!
