The Fractured Visions Film Festival has now announced the official selections for this year’s festival that happens September 29th and 30th in Tramshed Cardiff. Over the past 10 months, the festival “has been privileged to witness some of the finest examples of modern horror from across the world. This October The Women in Horror Film Festival returns to Atlanta to celebrate some of the most innovative female filmmakers in the genre. The film festival has announced the full lineup of films, screenplay contest finalists, and highlights what genre fans can expect, which you can read more about on their website and where you can also get your tickets. “WIHFF is proud to present the world premiere of the anthology BUGS: A TRILOGY, directed by Simone Kisiel. Hello my Little Monsters, we are less than a week away from HorrorHound Weekend’s celebration of all things horror movie related. And what makes this year even more special is the fact that it’s HorrorHound’s 10th Anniversary convention. To celebrate this big occasion, the festivities (which run from Friday August 24th through Sunday the 26th) have been moved to more spacious digs at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. They are filling this large venue with over 50 celebrity guests from horror movies old and new, as well as over 100 special effects artists and mask makers at Mask Fest. Have you had enough yet? That’s good because there’s still more. There’s also numerous vendors, selling almost any kind horror related merch you could be looking for. 2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the release of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. A true classic, the novel brought to life one of the most iconic creatures pop culture has ever known. To mark the occasion, on September 8th, Halloween is coming early to the Corey Helford Gallery with Frankenstein 2oo a massive group show curated by CHOGRIN that will feature over 100 artists from around the world. “In 1818, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein was published. Annabel de Vetten, also known as “Annabel Lecter”, is cooking something up disturbing for FannibalFest this October. The trained chef, artist, and taxidermist created a ‘Hannibal & Bedelia’ wedding cake for the official media release event of the series’ third season, has made a name for herself by baking a long list of disturbing desserts, all of which look revoltingly realistic. As a big fan of the Thomas Harris novels and cinematic adaptations of the Hannibal character, she is quite enamored of the TV show. “I love how Hannibal is even more sophisticated, intelligent, and articulate than in the films,” she enthuses. “This makes him more unsettling than ever before.” During her panel at FannibalFest she will dig into the connections between food and death. Jenn Wexler makes her directorial debut with the punk rock horror The Ranger. Not only do we have the new teaser trailer to share with you, we have a rocking new clip. The Fantasia International Film Festival wrapped its 2018 edition on August 2nd with the sold-out Canadian Premiere of Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy, and announced that it – for the sixth year in a row – welcomed nearly 100,000 attendees to its three weeks of films, events, and parties. The long-running Montreal genre fest is also proud to announce that a record-breaking 80+ screenings were sold out over the course of Fantasia 2018, marking the most in its 22-year history.
